workshop development and first ideas

… as we have already been informed, in a period of time we will be able to use a separated part of the ground floor of the Olympic Palace hotel to host our studio. Of course this space will fulfil our needs for a constant meeting place to accommodate our meetings and our work.
I strongly believe that our presence in the building during the time of the works is important as well. We will be in an unusual condition: to be accommodated in a building that is under construction and submitted in several changes. I imagine our presence in this space can work in two ways. First I suggest that we can work on this temporary studio, constructing an ephemeral condition based in the basic concepts of our work with Campanas brothers, building our own furniture tables, chairs and what is needed to be placed inside this space in order to work comfortably. Secondly, as we will be the main inhabitants of the building, and I’d like to say intruders and observers of the transformation of the interior, it would be interesting to keep a diary of this process: like a documentation of the transforming process that is taking place there, in an abstract and subjective way using various means…

The reconstruction (transforming) process of the building could function as a narrating way, either for its history or for the restoration experience itself , making it a part of its history.
The mapping of the transitions’ trace could work as the building’s experience.

Through this procedure we could animate the seemingly dead period of the working time. It would be nice if we manage to give essence to the invisible hands that recreate the space. They treat it like clay and along with the breath, the Campanas concept; they form a living organism that is usually hiding behind the scaffold.

These are just some thoughts
